I've said several times that I am not > going to do this and that I think it would break too many things, > including most of my own shell scripts. i have read every message in this thread. why accuse me of something you can't possibly know? i thought you were changing your position. i guess that was wrong. but can you blame me? this thread goes around in circles with no possibility of any code being written or results. i was trying to gently suggest that this thread be suspended until somebody does something. - erik
