Back in 1981 autolocking and locking files existed, but you'd have to be running basser's much hacked 32V. It had resources limits too. By 1985 it had copy-on-write fork an 'fast' [one] context switches. And kre thought 4.2BSD was fast... IIRC think basse[rt] were 45% faster.
