[9fans] Problems with STB nVidia 16MB - video cuts out during setup

I'm trying to install Plan 9 on a system with an STB nVidia 16MB video card.
I added the card to vgadb (according to the dump in vgainfo.txt):
   0xC0072="STB nVIDIA TNT ver. 1.10 " # STB nVidia

When the installation disk boots the screen clears like rio is coming up,
and you can hear the relays click as the monitor resoultion is changed -- so
far, so good. But the screen stays black and the monitor gives me the notice
that there is no video feed coming from the card! The computer is still on.
I looked at vgainfo.txt, and there's a different dump there, but I have no
clue what it means.

Anyone seen this kind problem before?

Fixed it. The problem was that I had the resolution set "too high":
1280x1024. Setting the resolution to 1024x768x8 solved the problem. The
reason I didn't think of this initially was that I regularly use this same
computer and monitor at 1280x1024 when it's running Windows 2000.

I hit another problem when I set 16 bit colour on my VAIO's LCD
display [1024x768x16].  Setting it back to 1024x768x8 fixed it.

Colour is not a biggy for me.
