Is this hardware you are talking about?. In the Sheeva you could get a
JTag connection
via the USB, without any extra hardware...

You need the mini usb JTAG/Serial on the Guruplug. I'm pretty sure you can use it for other JTAGing needs on other devices too, but i've never tried.
