I've been seeing it on Ubuntu Lucid too. If you or anyone would like to hunt down what's changed in the tty settings and how to fix it, I'd gladly accept a patch. When I first saw it I spent a while running stty commands but to no avail, so I've been putting up with the echoing, but I'd love to get it fixed. Thanks. Russ
