It works now. The docs were unclear to me. For example, this works: echo newuser george >>/srv/cwfs.cmd And this does not work (unsupprisingly): echo george george >>/srv/cwfs.cmd Unless you really look at it, it is unclear when to make a substitution (or fill in a variable), and when to type it literally. Perhaps the docs should say: echo newuser >>/srv/cwfs.cmd where is the name of the new user (without the <>). Thanks.
