[9fans] Why does 9legacy's 9k kernel ignore all uarti8250 devices?

I have a question: why does 9legacy's 9k kernel ignore all uarti8250 devices?

In my understanding, originally, i8250pnp() removed unable uart
devices from the i8250uart array then returned the rest devices, but
now, its function always returns empty.
As a result, 9k kernel does not have anything in the '#t' driver, and
I can't input anything from QEMU's serial console.

I added the patch. It's from http://www.collyer.net/who/geoff/9/9k-pf.tgz. For me it was the opposite, no serial device was detected. That patch fixed it. Are you testing with newest qemu version? Any options other than the defaults for qemu? I'll probably re-test at some point. Can't right now.
