I buy my books on abebooks. I've bought many gems for $0.99. Looking
at the books I've bought, the average price I payed is $4. Yes, it's
not a typo.
They have some very rare books as well.

Abebooks has a great listing of books and for relatively good prices. They offer a wide selection of used books as well. I've managed to grab my own copy of K & R :)
