AIUI, The problem is that the i810 doesn't have dedicated video memory, but is intended to share system memory. This is basically a cost-cutting measure. The i810's memory area is addressed by using some AGP-only features, specifically the "gart": http://utah-glx.sourceforge.net/gart/README That's what the Linux module adds support for.
