I'm running 3e so this may have been addressed already,
but this morning i tried to lc a ftpfs'd directory
that was empty and was returned an error:

term% ftpfs ...
...
term% cd /n/ftp
term% mkdir edctl
term% cd edctl
term% lc
ls: .: file does not exist
