I was building kernels on this machine "no problem" a few months back. Now, when I boot the kernel, it looks for an nvram file, fails, then asks me for a password. It's almost like it's trying to be a file server. I have several bootfile entries in plan9.ini, so I have the old one (which is one I built), but this is puzzling. (cpuserver is set to 0 in the config file). What could I have screwed up that would make this happen. Same /sys/src/9/pc, same plan9.ini, same source tree, ... what could I have done wrong? Or is there something outside the kernel build that could make this happen? thanks ron
