Russ Cox mentioned that NetBSD (??) allows you to mount on a directory you own. You have to own it. Still lotsa danger here. Linux has a religious aversion to users mounting things, and has since at least 1996 when I started asking them about this for a very early version of v9fs. They did not object to v9fs per se, just the concept of user mounts! ron
