Release Notes (http://plan9.bell-labs.com/sys/doc/release3.html) * Alef is gone. It was deemed too difficult to maintain two sets of compilers and libraries for all architectures. Alef programs were translated into C, with the help of a new thread library that preserves much of Alef's functionality, but none of its syntax. Apparently (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong) there is still a version of Alef for SGI machines, whose existence somehow prevents the releaseof the old source code under the new licence --Joel On Mon, 31 Mar 2003, Conor Williams wrote: > hi > where do I find the alef compiler and what is its name? > l8r > will551 > > >
