Hi all.
I'm trying to install LaTeX so I can write up some results; I'm afraid I'm
not much good with troff.
I get a successful install, and which_kertex does the expected thing.
But when I try '$KERTEX_SHELL $KERTEX_LIBDIR/pkg/rcp/latex.sh install' I
get missing dependencies that I don't know how to resolve. KerTex reports
version 0.99.25.01

Thanks,
  Paul

Just add the "-a" flag to automatically install missing dependencies:

$KERTEX_SHELL $KERTEX_LIBDIR/pkg/rc/latex.sh -a install

(The only thing that doesn't work on Plan9 is the conversion of
beamer's slides from dvi to PostScript because ghostscript is too old to understand
transparency. Everything else not working is a bug or a missing
recipe for some CTAN package. Just report ;-)

Correcting myself: dvi to ps works (with kerTeX dvips) but interpreting this
PostScript by Plan9 ghostscript to generate PDF fails.

BTW, for totally other reasons (I need to find a way to fill a PDF
AcroForm on command line), I found pdfio:

https://github.com/michaelrsweet/pdfio

that is C and is under Apache License (needs to be extended---I'm on
it---, but it is C not C++, and neither Afero nor GPL). FWIW.

Thanks Thiery - I got much further with the -a. But it still doesn't get
through the installation:
...
hyph-utf8/source/languages/gl/glhytec.tex
hyph-utf8/source/languages/gl/glhyxeog.tex
hyph-utf8/source/languages/gl/glhyquim.tex
/lib/kertex/pkg/rcp/latex.sh[149]: cd:
/tmp/11578/hyph-utf8/doc/generic/hyph-utf8 - No such file or directory

Did I miss something?

Paul

They have changed the hyph-utf8 package on 2024-01-10...

Just give me a moment, I will update the recipe.

BTW, one can install from a cache of files (set when I wrote and
tested the recipes, quite recently) by passing the "-c" (options have
to be passed separately: "-a -c") or, alternatively, by setting in the
environment:

KERTEX_PKG_SRC_SRV='http://downloads.kergis.com/kertex/pkg/src/'

But if you can wait an hour or less, the problem should be harmless
and I will update the recipe.

I will repost a message when done.

The updated recipe (hyph-utf8 having changed on 2025-01-10...) is
available here:

http://downloads.kergis.com/kertex/pkg/rcp/latex.sh

(don't use the kergis.com cache with the '-c' option since I haven't
updated the cache now.)

Please report success or failure!
