Now it seems that as long as I don't try to back up fossil with venti
(i.e. I choose just fossil and not fossil+venti in the installation
process), I can use the 9atom CD.

Any attempt to use venti too resulted in a failure sooner or later, as
was depicted in my posts. No hint why...

But at least I have some plan 9 running now...
