Sparc kernel samples haven't been distributed for ages, but the contrib area includes a 2nd edition port to Sparcstation 10/20 and LX/Classic (microsparc examples). the distance between 2nd and 3rd/4th is greater than 3rd to 4th at this level in the kernel, so converting them to 4th edition requires rather more work. compiler suites are provided for the following: 1c 68000 Motorola MC68000 2c 68020 Motorola MC68020 5c arm ARM 7500 6c 960 Intel i960 7c alpha Digital Alpha APX 8c 386 Intel i386, i486, Pentium, etc. 9c 29000 AMD 29000 family kc sparc Sun SPARC qc power Power PC vc mips big-endian MIPS 3000 family there are a few others that aren't in the distribution, but could probably be got if needed. --upas-skcflfdaicfmbmxgghjnnrbduc Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-Path: <9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu> Received: from punt-1.mail.demon.net by mailstore for forsyth@vitanuova.com id 1034587577:10:01822:90; Mon, 14 Oct 2002 09:26:17 GMT Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu ([130.203.4.6]) by punt-1.mail.demon.net id aa1108820; 14 Oct 2002 9:25 GMT Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu (psuvax1.cse.psu.edu [130.203.20.6]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id E1CD319A97; Mon, 14 Oct 2002 05:25:08 -0400 (EDT) Delivered-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Received: from mercury.bath.ac.uk (mercury.bath.ac.uk [138.38.32.81]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 0A5FA19A17 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Mon, 14 Oct 2002 05:24:10 -0400 (EDT) Received: from news by mercury.bath.ac.uk with local (Exim 3.12 #1) id 1811NN-0004Y6-00 for 9fans@cse.psu.edu; Mon, 14 Oct 2002 10:19:01 +0100 Received: from GATEWAY by bath.ac.uk with netnews for 9fans@cse.psu.edu (9fans@cse.psu.edu) To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu From: emanuel stiebler Message-ID: <3DA9C2CD.DC4F04A@ecubics.com> Organization: University of Bath Computing Services, UK Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: [9fans] supported architectures Sender: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu Errors-To: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu X-BeenThere: 9fans@cse.psu.edu X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.11 Precedence: bulk Reply-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu List-Id: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans.cse.psu.edu> List-Archive: Date: Mon, 14 Oct 2002 09:18:41 GMT Hi, On what machines could I work with plan9 ? The "old" references always saying something about vax, mips, power, ... The never documentation is just talking about PC's. So, was the support for the rest of the planet canceled in favor of PC's ?
