Just a note, because we had only an opportunity to exchange a few
words once with Paul about this, after Brian Stuart's talk about the
ENIAC.

Nix seems also a potential way to solve the real-time problem: having
a core without interrupts caused by time-sharing. Meaning that on a
device with two cores, and that needs real-time for accuracy but also
more general stuff for managing, a Nix solution taking into account
that since there are multiple cores they have not to be handled the
exact same way, seems also a solution to this, matching crucial present
and future needs.

A note, "en passant", so what we saw in a glimpse thanks to B. L.
Stuart's talk, is not lost.
