I noticed that the Millenium was supported in Release 3, but I can't
seem to get it to work in Release 4. That's rather unfortunate for me,
since the only other card I have is a Trident Blade 3D, which is totally
unsupported :-(
I'm willing to put in the work necessary to make one of the above work,
if somebody can point me in the right direction.
Sorry to post so soon after joining the list,
Dave Cohen <dave@dave.tj>

To get my Millenium G200 AGP to work under R4 I had to edit the vgadb on
the installation disk to include the following line:
ctlr
0xC002D="MATROX/Matrox G400"
0xC002D="MATROX/Matrox G450"
0xC002D="MATROX/MGA-G200" <----- this line added
link=vga
ctlr=mga4xx linear=1
hwgc=mga4xxhwgc
I used 1280x1024x8 as a display mode (it seems that the Matrox Driver cannot
handle more than 8 bits per pixel; hey, when is this going to change?).
After installation I had to copy the vgadb file manually over to the hard disk
from the installation floppy because the installed file didn't include my
modifications (seemed as if they copy over a fresh vgadb and not the one from
the floppy).
That was it for me, I hope it helps.
Regards,
Sascha

Thanks for sharing your experience. Clearly, the G200 is compatible with
the G400/450. The original Millenium, I'm almost sure, is not. Also,
my Millenium is detected fine by vga. It's just that the whole system
locks up when it tries to go into VGA mode. If it'll help, I'll post the
vga.txt file from the floppy. (Just tell me it will, and I'll post it.)

Dave, I don't think I can help you because I'm no expert, but try posting anyway,
maybe someone else can help.
