I conside= r it a hack, but it addresses the issue allowing user modifiable roots whil= e also allowing a mode which ensures a pristine environment on boot. As far as I can tell the later is a fundamental design philosophy and goal withi= n TinyCore. So, this was the best I could come up with at the moment as a workable compromise for both camps. So, I am willing to go either way. Thanks for the additional feedback though, it helps to have the clarity. EBo --
