this problem dates from march. the cause is this patch:
/n/sources/plan9/patch/applied/marshal-inline-c9x
or via http:
http://arkiv.netbsd.se/?ml=plan9-source-changes&a=2006-03&t=1827114
which applied ",s:inline:ainline" to the source, which is a bit too agressive.
