While I believe this comes from US financial restrictions, refusing the payment doesn't change anything from Google's perspective. Individuals from those countries may not participate under the GSoC umbrella. We are, of course, under no such restrictions as a project just because we participate in GSoC. I'd love to see the output of this project, or that from any other individuals in any of the countries Google can't work with. Anthony
