It does seem bizarre that the atom-330 is rated at 8 watts and is passively cooled, but the chipset is over 20 watts and needs a fan. On my jetway board, I replaced the noisy chipset fan with a scythe mini-kaze which is much quieter. I'm going to see if I can go one step further with a Zalman passive heatsink. Another thought: since I'm not using the onboard graphics (I have a pci vga card so I can use both CPUs), can I shut down the graphics part of the ich7 to draw less power? Or is only the bios able to do that?
