The address (10) has to be written to addr and not to ctl file.
To accomplish "B file:10" using acme control files:
; . $PLAN9/lib/acme.rc
; newwindow
; winname /path/to/file
; winctl get
; echo -n 10 | winwrite addr
; winctl 'dot=addr'
