I guess we need one of two alternatives at this point: either somebody documents how to recover from a pull by first reconstructing (or binding from the dump) the critical commands or we are given some indication by Bell Labs so that we can wait to do a pull until sources is consistent and pulling becomes safe again. Erik kindly offered a recovery procedure, but my impression is that it compounds effort for only a temporary gain; waiting for Bell Labs, on the other hand, has the drawback that custom kernels will not be taken care of automatically. I seem to remember that there was one header change offered (Erik, again?) that would help with this last issue, would that allow safe building of custom kernels without first pulling? ++L
