[9fans] student exchange

Hi,

I'm thinking of going on a student exchange trip in the coming years (either for one semester, or one whole academic year).

I have been interested in operating systems (mostly Unices, more recently Plan 9) for quite a few years now, and am looking for universities where there is a focus on operating systems research/education. Since there are a fair few academia people reading this mailing list, I'm giving it a shot here.

I'm studying at the Czech Technical University so most universities in Europe shouldn't be an issue (because of Erasmus+), but please give me ideas from all over the world as there's a good chance the two unis have an agreement allowing student exchanges.

Would it be worth it to post this on the 9front list as well?

Some time ago IWP9 was at The University of Theselonica in Volos, Greece. A
very pleasant experience.

Maybe Drexel with Brian Stuart, or in Madrid with Francisco Ballesteros?

Here in Bologna we have a two-semester course[1] on operating systems 
lectured by Renzo Davoli[2], quite a big figure in the italian FOSS 
community.

thank you very much for the ideas, Bruce, Shawn, and dogma.

University of Madrid, University of Bologna, and University of Theselonica sound particularly good.

I have researched nemo previously because of the intro book and he seemed really promising.

I'm really quite excited to meet some of the people that have been mentioned.

Yes. Though I haven't yet stumbled across people who are properly interested in OSes in Czechia (neither at Matfyz nor at CTU). If you know any such people, I'd really appreciate if you pointed me in their direction.
