a coraid employee noticed the following odd behavior
from nedmail

it's trivial enough to fix the problem, but there seems to be a
reason behind this quirk. does anyone know what it might be?

The way I usually use it I would not expect h to move dot.

here is a typical senario for me:

	I view the email
realise the formatting of the text multipart is badly formatted
type h to see if I have another choice
type (say) 22.4|htmlfmt -a to see an alternative layout.

Having said this perhaps my technique has grown from the way it works,
chickens and eggs again.

thanks. that's a case i hadn't thought about. by the way,
why h and not H?

in any event it seems that the case of 4h might do what the
user wants while 22.1h might often not. in particular, this
result is odd

	upas/nedmail
	: 4h
	4 * 2934 6/01 14:48 quanstro@coraid.com [9fans] nedmail h doesn't move dot
	:

but then again setting . to 22.1 might be odd, too;
at least it is consistent with commands like "p".

but h would work, but only if there is no sender.
for example, if you had a multipart that's not a
message/rfc-822.

if it weren't for the quirks, i think ned might
disappear.
