The disks in a mirror need to start out with identical
contents.  If (w5w1) is exactly the same size as w2,
I think you'll be okay.  If they aren't exactly the
same size, the fake-worm blocks-written bitmaps should
be in different places, thus it won't work right.

If you can boot your file server as a CPU server,
you can use dd to copy disks.
