I remove everything under /mail/grey each night, so perhaps your system tried to call once on the 7th and then not again until the 13th? The greylist code does assume that an unknown caller will call back within the same day. If your cron is only running the mail queues every day or week, I'd suggest changing it to once per hour. Transient failures are possible even when calling sites that don't implement greylists. --upas-vxrfgmgmzffhrwxvmhowucpzvh Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from collyer.net ([10.9.0.12]) by collyer.net; Thu Mar 18 05:06:40 PST 2004 Received: from mail.cse.psu.edu ([130.203.4.6]) by collyer.net; Thu Mar 18 05:06:39 PST 2004 Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id C0A8919C51; Thu, 18 Mar 2004 08:06:22 -0500 (EST) Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu (psuvax1.cse.psu.edu [130.203.4.6]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id E6FEA19C8E; Thu, 18 Mar 2004 08:06:19 -0500 (EST) X-Original-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Delivered-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id E34CA19CB2; Thu, 18 Mar 2004 08:05:47 -0500 (EST) Received: from juice.thebigchoice.com (cpc1-nott2-3-0-cust18.nott.cable.ntl.com [80.4.204.18]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id AD55A19C5F for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Thu, 18 Mar 2004 08:05:46 -0500 (EST) Message-ID: <9a2bfccc4355091cbc88a27f04521ccc@juice.thebigchoice.com> From: matt@proweb.co.uk To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: [9fans] geoff's anti spam worked a bit too well Sender: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu Errors-To: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu X-BeenThere: 9fans@cse.psu.edu X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.11 Precedence: bulk Reply-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu List-Id: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans.cse.psu.edu> List-Archive: Date: Thu, 18 Mar 2004 13:08:08 0000 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.63 (2004-01-11) on psuvax1.cse.psu.edu X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.3 required=5.0 tests=NO_REAL_NAME autolearn=no version=2.63 X-Spam-Level: Sorry for sending it here but as you can see, I can't mail geoff From /dev/null Thu Mar 18 13:06:05 GMT 2004 Date: Thu, 18 Mar 2004 13:06:05 0000 From: /dev/null To: matt Subject: permanent failure Your request ``mail net!collyer.net geoff '' failed (code Giveup).
