The important difference is that in Unix the "terminal", specially
graphics terminals like X servers, have to be trusted to be in good
hands - which cannot be enforced.  When you look at NFS, for example,
a trusted network node can totally subvert security if the trust
cannot be ensured.

Plan 9 gets around all these issues by putting security where it
belongs and not giving a false sense of security by means of sobscure
protocols and other ineffectual means.
