If you mean the font used by the install process, start rio with the option '-f /lib/font/bit/lucidasans/typelatin1.7.font'. I believe that's what we're using. Alternately, you could just set the environment variable 'font' to that value before starting rio. --upas-joytlijolnzckbbfocebxssmti Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Received: from plan9.cs.bell-labs.com ([135.104.9.2]) by plan9; Mon Dec 1 06:11:29 EST 2003 Received: from mail.cse.psu.edu ([130.203.4.6]) by plan9; Mon Dec 1 06:11:26 EST 2003 Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id 6B47E19CA9; Mon, 1 Dec 2003 06:11:25 -0500 (EST) Received: from psuvax1.cse.psu.edu (psuvax1.cse.psu.edu [130.203.30.6]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 9166319C19; Mon, 1 Dec 2003 06:11:06 -0500 (EST) X-Original-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Delivered-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu Received: by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server, from userid 60001) id B03EB19A91; Mon, 1 Dec 2003 06:10:16 -0500 (EST) Received: from mercury.bath.ac.uk (mercury.bath.ac.uk [138.38.32.81]) by mail.cse.psu.edu (CSE Mail Server) with ESMTP id 873B319C19 for <9fans@cse.psu.edu>; Mon, 1 Dec 2003 06:10:04 -0500 (EST) Received: from news by mercury.bath.ac.uk with local (Exim 3.12 #1) id 1AQlsq-0003qu-00 for 9fans@cse.psu.edu; Mon, 01 Dec 2003 11:06:28 +0000 Received: from GATEWAY by bath.ac.uk with netnews for 9fans@cse.psu.edu (9fans@cse.psu.edu) To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu From: Vasile Rotaru Message-ID: Organization: University of Bath Computing Services, UK Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Subject: [9fans] Problems with Live Plan 9 CD Sender: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu Errors-To: 9fans-admin@cse.psu.edu X-BeenThere: 9fans@cse.psu.edu X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.11 Precedence: bulk Reply-To: 9fans@cse.psu.edu List-Id: Fans of the OS Plan 9 from Bell Labs <9fans.cse.psu.edu> List-Archive: Date: Mon, 1 Dec 2003 11:06:19 GMT X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.0 required=5.0 tests=none version=2.55 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.55 (1.174.2.19-2003-05-19-exp) Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable It take me more than one attempt to be able to boot from $subj. The problem seems to be that my CD is connected as slave to the second IDE interface and has no master. So the boot program finds plan9.ini on sdD1 but looks for the kernel for the kernel and root filesystem on sdD0. When I enter the right values by hand the system boots nicely. I have not (yet) installed the Plan9 but if I succed how can change the default font to the one used by the install shell? Regards, Vasile Rotaru --upas-joytlijolnzckbbfocebxssmti--
