this should no longer be necessary. as a temporary measure,
i've added the change to lib9p, and the .a's to the factotum
contrib package.
i apoligize for making this difficult. the reason for the change
in lib9p is that we needed start() to happen in the fs thread,
and there was some flush behavior that was otherwise not fixable.
i'll try to fix this problem going forward.
