(!) since it seems that most every ahci device works right out of the box, there seems to be no point in whitelisting vendor ids. assuming that all ahci devices work (unless otherwise noted) i think will help many things work that don't currently. i just commited a patch to atom that does just that. i'll try to rebuild the usb image and test it out tomorrow. - erik
