if that's the rio that comes up after the installation (glenda+acme
and docs) then do:

	togif < /dev/screen > $home/scr.gif

if you want to take a snapshot of the booting screen beforehand (with
'root is from:' prompts and whatnot) you're better off using a camera,
or copy/pasting the text as it comes off the serial console :)
