Subject: [9fans] nvidia 1600x1200 dvi suggestions
Date: Wed, 4 May 2005 04:41:18 -0400	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <ee9e417a05050401417112976b@mail.gmail.com> (raw)

It turns out that my vgadb entry was fine and that the
card I'm using (an ASUS V9400-X/TD/64, but perhaps
more generally all Geforce MX4000s) doesn't do DVI
output above 1280x1024. It can do analog output up
to 2048x1536, but no DVI. So I can drive my 1600x1200
flat panel in analog mode (which looks surprisingly good)
but not in digital.

Anyone out there using a DVI card that drives 1600x1200?
I have one GeForce4 MX 440 that seems to do the trick, but
I'm worried that the packaging matters as well as the chipset
and the card is old enough that it's hard to find these days.

Russ
