A valid comment, I must grant.  I guess I'm hoping the better idea
will not be overlooked by a NIH when it does present itself.

Also valid.  But a database lookup would be even better, would it not?
That has got to be kept in mind, like or not.  Thinking out of the box
is called for, will it ever happen?
