[9fans] mount /n/a: failed

Hi,
My installation of plan9 v4 failed after seeing:

kfs...version...time...
dossvr: serving #s/dos
mount: mount /n/a:: unknown format
cp: can't stat /n/a:/plan9.ini: '/n/a:/plan9.ini' does not exist
......
init: starting /bin/rc
%

obviously, somehow the installer couldn't mount my floppy,
but then from rc prompt:

%a:
%ls /n/a:
%

works just fine. Any hint on how I should proceed from here?

This sounds like the boota: problem:

    Subject: [9fans] /rc/bin/boota:
    Date: Sun, 28 Apr 2002 19:30:09 +0200

    When boota: sees that I'm booting off sdC0 it then
    sets adisk to:

        /dev/sdC0/data

    This is not good.  If I change it to:

        /dev/sdC0/dos

    everything works as planned.

    This entails:

        kill dossrv | rc
        cd /rc/bin
        chmod 777 boota:
        ed boota:
        10s/data/dos/p
        w
        q
        rc termrc
        rc /usr/glenda/lib/profile

Thanks Boyd, problem solved. Just:

kill dossrv | rc
rc /rc/bin/termrc
rc /usr/glenda/lib/profile

is good enough to get it back on track.

our floppy driver has problems.
in a few days i expect to put together
an updated boot disk, and i will have it
mount the floppy twice.  i think this
particular problem is caused by floppy
drives with long spin-up times.  we time
out and give up too quickly.
