troff -man foo | lp -dstdout > foo.ps
prints series of
/386/bin/aux/tr2post: <stdin>:3963 :WARNING: cannot find glyph,
rune=0x3002 stoken=<..> troff font LuciaSans
...
The file foo contains Japanese encoded in UTF.
How can I install Japanese font?
