greetings,
i am trying to understand mk and has stumbled upon :N:
this is the only rule in my mkfile:
f2 :N: f1
i belive the man page says the following:
N If there is no recipe, the target has its time updated.
this i interpret as 'f2 will has its time updated'.
but when i run mk this does not happen. f2 is still older than f1.
perhaps someone can clearify why my interpretation is wrong, and explain
what the man page really means?
warning: i have used the mk distributed with inferno. perhaps the plan9 mk
will update f2s time.
