Multi-button mice and pucks are notorious RSI hazards. A company I may
not name did an RSI study of its graphics pucks. Being a responsible
firm, they quickly redesigned the pucks--desiring to avoid lawsuits,
they quickly buried the study.
Personally, I need to use the Plan 9 mouse with caution.
