Except for one successful installation -- and whether it succeeded is debatable, since it did not result in a bootable system -- every installation I have attempted, both before and after the debatably successful one, has failed in the manner shown. And I do not know what I did differently, on the occasion when the installation succeeded. Anyway, I now have a 9front system that repeats "init: starting /bin/rc" endlessly what it boots. Has anyone on this mailing list seen this before? How do I fix it and obtain a usable system? Jay F.
