it should print an error message at attach time of the file
it is unable to find. from the source, it looks for the files:
c = namec("/boot/wpi-3945abg", Aopen, OREAD, 0);
...
c = namec("/lib/firmware/wpi-3945abg", Aopen, OREAD, 0);
