if the machine employs a USB3.0 (xHCI) controller, try to disable USB3.0 support in BIOS as the driver may not support your chipset yet.
can we remove this? theres no chipset specific things in our xhci driver at all.
it seems outdated before we had a xhci driver?

i’m not opposed to removing it.
iirc, the directive was because some machines wouldn’t boot with usb3.0 enabled.
