i can confirm both tests got received, but gmail thinks it's spam.

no idea why, as SPF passes fine.

gmail's latest idiocy:  if an MTA does not have an ipv6 address, any
messages it emits are flagged as spam until users train it otherwise.

Practical experience.  For many years gmail would reject ANY message
sent over ipv6 as spam, then it would reject if you lacked an ipv6
reverse dns record, and now it rejects unless your server both has an
ipv6 PTR record AND is accessible over ipv6.  It took some time before
it started delivering mail again under these circumstances.
