fileserver ?

i dont get this, plan9 services all (to my knowledge) open and close the log=
file on each message so you can just rename the logfile and touch and chmod a=
 new one. there is a window where you could lose a message but i am willing t=
o risk it.

this is what i have been doing for years on my servers. if you really don't w=
ant to lose any messages - then don't chmod -t and let venti/cwfs take care o=
f the file.
