hi everyone,

last weekend thedæmon shared with me this 3d model of glenda, made by an
artist named srjskam.

the author gave us permission to use it as long as we shared the
result with the plan 9 community, so attached is a pic i took with the
visualizer in 3dee.  i also wanted to invite anyone with a 3d printer
to take the next step and materialize it (maybe make a bunch and share
them at the upcoming iwp9.)

prove to be harmless.  To avoid possible automatic
execution, we changed the content headers.

That's funny, because I just yesterday looked for one and then made one:

It comes with the .blend source file and a few modifications specifically for 3d printing. 
 
I also saw a few nice things in the rendering you shared, specifically the ears and the eyes. 
 
Regarding use, basically do with it what you want, but treat it a bit openly, like share your modifications, etc.

I have a low poly Glenda model as well that I've been tinkering with 
myself if anyone is interested in it as well.

I had the opportunity to send the model to the mechanical engineer at
work who printed it for me on a  Bambu X1C. We only had grey PLA as
printing ABS stinks up the place so he only runs ABS prints after
hours. Took 30 minutes though I am unsure of the print quality
settings. I think it was mentioned the tooth might not need support
but decided to print support to get it right the first time. A bit of
paint or marker could be used to color in the eyes, muzzle and ears.

To me, the model is damn near perfect. Event he little tooth came out
nice. The proportions match the pictures of Glenda and looks very
authentic. Even in grey.

I am unfortunately unable to make this years IWP9 but I hope someone
can make a few of these. I don't now if I can abuse the work printer
but perhaps I can buy a roll of white PLA and make a deal with the
mech engineer.

taw that print looks amazing! :D

and i agree srjskam nailed the proportions.

i also saw sirjofri's at the Chemnitz meetup on 9fans, very cool!

now i have to figure out how to get my hands on a couple of those...
you should bring a box to the hackathon, if possible. :)
