Subject: [9front] two different cpu/auth servers
Date: Wed, 19 Jan 2022 07:44:29 -0800	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <E938E8AE3BAB88EE95B495F4FAD9CFC6@gmail.com> (raw)

So I'm trying to connect from my local machine to a remote machine that is a cpu/auth also.

I can log in via glenda remote using rcpu -u glenda -h ghob

But I can't log in via rcpu -u www -h ghob. If I log in as as glenda first in that namespace
i can then run rcpu -u anyuser.

key: proto=p9sk1 user=glenda dom=thinktank !hex? !password?
	dialing auth server net!172.27.0.67!ticket
	successfully dialed auth server
	password for glenda@thinktank [hit enter to skip test]:
	dialing auth server net!172.27.0.67!ticket
	_asgetticket failed: remote: DES is disabled
key: proto=dp9ik user=glenda dom=thinktank !hex? !password?
	dialing auth server net!172.27.0.67!ticket
	successfully dialed auth server
	password for glenda@thinktank [hit enter to skip test]:
	dialing auth server net!172.27.0.67!ticket
	ticket request using glenda@thinktank key succeeded
	cpu server owner for domain thinktank [glenda]:
	password for glenda@thinktank [hit enter to skip test]:
	ticket request using glenda@thinktank key succeeded
key: proto=dp9ik dom=thinktankworkspaces user=glenda !password?
	cannot dial auth server: no auth server found for thinktankworkspaces
	csquery authdom=thinktankworkspaces auth=* failed
	csquery dom=thinktankworkspaces auth=*
	dial net!$auth!ticket succeeded
key: proto=dp9ik dom=thinktankworkspaces user=www !password?
	cannot dial auth server: no auth server found for thinktankworkspaces
	csquery authdom=thinktankworkspaces auth=* failed
	csquery dom=thinktankworkspaces auth=*
	dial net!$auth!ticket succeeded

local machine is.

ipnet=thinktank ip=172.27.0.0 ipmask=255.255.255.0
	ipgw=172.27.0.254
	dns=8.8.8.8
	#dns=172.27.0.67
	auth=172.27.0.67
	fs=172.27.0.67
	dnsdom=thinktank
	authdom=thinktank
	cpu=172.27.0.67
	smtp=cirno

sys=localhost dom=localhost ip=127.0.0.1
sys=cirno dom=cirno.thinktank ether=080027f9ec98 ip=172.27.0.67
sys=ghob ether=525400123456 ip=35.86.109.161

remote machine.

ipnet=thinktankworkspaces ip=10.0.2.0 ipmask=255.255.255.0
	ipgw=10.0.2.2
	#dns=8.8.8.8
	dns=10.0.2.15
	auth=ghob
	dnsdom=thinktankworkspaces
	authdom=thinktankworkspaces
	cpu=10.0.2.15
	smtp=ghob
	fs=ghob
ip=10.0.2.15 sys=ghob dom=thinktankworkspaces ether=525400123456

And no I don't have the actual domain pointing directly to thinktankworkspaces.com. I figured
I can change that latter. If I can log in via glenda I should be able to log in as user
www.

Does that user need to be in a certain group? I should be able to do this with generic
domains and not worry about resolution.
