It may be possible to attack this question by syntax in some cases,
but it is mainly semantics: in particular, what happens if a module
named "A" is defined further? We have to take care of "scopes", which
is semantics.

What do you mean by "switch between different modules with the same
interface"? Can you give a specific example?
