[Caml-list] How many people in the world know OCAML?

... one could probably get an estimate from 

a) the number of downloads of the O'Reilly book and O'Caml manual

b) the number of people subscribed to caml-list

c) the number of unique posters per month (people are unlikely to change 
their email addresses on this time scale) [this number equals 143 for July, 
according to my records]

Not everyone who knows O'Caml is subscribed / posts to caml-list of course, 
and vice versa. Can anyone get a better estimate?

Ocaml is thaught in france to first year computer science university
student (and in strasbourg at least also to mathematic student, as the
first part of the cursus is common) and to student of preparatory course
to ingenieer schools.

I guess many of those don't download the ocaml manual or the oreilly
book, nor are subscribed to the caml list, but then i don't know exactly
what do you mean by 'knowing' ocaml.

Hello,

You are a bit pessimistic. In France many people use Caml Light, and his
brother Ocaml, because it is taught in many school. 

So you have to add the number of people who are taught in college and
school about Ocaml.

MP/Informatique )
