The real error is that ocamlc doesn't find event.cmi.  To get access
to the interfaces for the thread library, you need to supply the
-thread or -vmthread flags to ocamlc.  
AFAIK, the same error should occur with 3.06, unless you moved or
symlinked some files in the standard installation.
