I do use OCaml on AIX. However, due to the problems you have mentioned,
ocamlopt has never worked for us (I believe it wouldn't even compile in
AIX5.1L). I would actually be in favor of removing it assuming ocamlc
-custom continues to work. It would probably make the build process
easier on AIX.
